Called RAW, the fish and cocktail restaurant will open on Fitzrovia’s Great Portland Street on 17 May Government guidelines permitting
Simeoli, who was born and raised on the coast of Napoli, is also rebranding Crudo, the seafood restaurant that launched on London’s Brick Lane in December, as RAW to bring both restaurants under the same brand. The restaurant will re-open for outdoor dining on 12 April and then for indoor dining on 17May.
Both restaurants will serve an extensive seafood menu of dishes with the menu divided into sections such as oysters, raw and fun, tempura, sea buns, and fish tapas. Dishes include rock oysters; sea bream ceviche; sea bass carpaccio; tuna tartare sea buns; wild brill and ‘nduja; black ink arancini; and grilled octopus.
The theme continues in the cocktail list with drinks such as the kombu seaweed martini and nori pisco sour.
Both restaurants will also operate as high-quality fishmongers by day serving fish caught predominantly off the Cornish coast.
Simeoli also owns two Laboratorio Pizza venues, which serve sourdough Neapolitan pizzas as well as fresh pasta and Italian aperitivo, one in Fitzrovia and one also on Brick Lane.
