Named after its location in the scheme, Unità 4 will offer a menu that’s partly inspired by Vecchio's native Puglia.
Alongside pizza, the restaurant will focus on handmade pasta with the launch menu including the likes of pappardelle with duck and rosemary ragout with smoked scamorza cheese; fusilli with smoked salmon, leeks and walnuts, and gnocchetti sardi with prawns, pumpkin and sage.
Unità 4 will also teach customers the art of making fresh pasta by way of interactive cooking classes in the restaurant’s pasta workshop.
There will be a number of vegetarian and vegan options including orecchiette pasta with wild broccoli, garlic and chilli and strascinati pasta with spello lentils, mixed wild mushrooms and truffle oil.
“My aim is to create a happy and welcoming environment for guests to enjoy freshly made pasta while feeling the positive Italian vibes,” says Vecchio, was previously owner of East Dulwich’s Aneto Cafe.
The restaurant is hoping to launch for outdoor dining from 14 April ahead of a full opening on 17 May.
