Brighton-based rotisserie and roast dinner brand RoastHost is making a move into the capital with the opening of a second venue in Islington.

Owners Glen Halsey and Mike Matthews are opening at the Wenlock & Essex Pub in Islington serving roast dinners and rotisserie chicken for delivery. Dishes on the menu will include chicken, beef and pork with sides of cauliflower cheese, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes. There is also a vegan option of hassleback squash, roast potatoes and slaw.

The business uses only free range or organic produce with meat sourced from farms in the South Downs, the New Forest and Hampshire and chickens supplied by Creedy Carver in Devon. Packaging is plastic-free and is sustainable and eco-friendly.

“Following our success in Brighton, requests from customers in London came flooding in – and it seemed like a natural step to open our second site in the capital” says Matthews. “We have put a lot of thought, care and craftsmanship into the traditional British Roast in order to elevate it to something very special. Everything we serve is ethically sourced.”

The Islington RoastHost will open at the end of the month from 12pm to 9pm Thursday to Saturday, and 12pm to 7pm Sunday. It will be available for walk-ins, click & collect and delivery via its website as well as through delivery platforms UberEATS and Deliveroo.
