Competitive socialising group Social Entertainment Ventures (SEV) has undergone a rebrand with its name changed to State of Play.

The operator of the ping pong concept Bounce and multi-sensory bingo brand Hijingo has launched a new website to coincide with the rebrand.

Having recently brought in Lesley Mcilroy as  UK marketing director, the group has now appointed Strahan Wilson, formerly of Coté Restaurants and EAT, to the role of chief financial officer.

Meanwhile, SEV founder Adam Breedon, who launched the company back in 2010, has moved into a non-executive role.

In October last year the operator announced it was to invest in refreshing its Bounce table tennis brand, as well as launching new technology to support Wonderball – its digitally enhanced gaming platform.

Plans to open the first Hijingo site were put on hold due to the pandemic, but the launch in of its new 200+ capacity Shoreditch venue is now pencilled in for summer 2021.

The concept has previously been described as offering 'highly immersive gameplay and ground-breaking production technology’.

State of Play also operates darts bar brand Flight Club under license in the US.

Breedon is also the co-founder of bowling chain All Star Lanes.
