As part of its plans to support operators and safely accommodate visitors from 12 April, Grosvenor Britain & Ireland is adding 610 covers to the development, all in keeping with social distancing guidelines.
Of these, half of the covers introduced will increase the existing outdoor seating areas of Liverpool ONE’s restaurants, cafés and bars, which include Lunya, Yard & Coop, Cote, Smoke & Dough, Byron, Five Guys and PizzaExpress.
Three new restaurant and leisure brands will also be opening at the development - Maggie Fu, Mamasan, with its first restaurant outside Scotland, and experiential golfing concept On The Green.
The remainder will form part of pop-up activations across Chavasse Park alongside new communal spaces.
The reopening plans will include the return of ‘safe circles’ painted on the grass on Chavasse Park, first introduced in summer 2020. The designated socially distanced areas encourage visitors to the enjoy the destination’s five-acre park in the heart of the city.
Liverpool ONE is one of a number of areas that is increasing outside capacity in time for the easing of restrictions on 12 April to allow for al fresco eating and drinking.
Covent Garden is adding 500 outside seats across more than 25 restaurants when they reopen on 12 April onwards. The new al fresco seating will span seven streets as well as the historic piazza, with the majority of covers providing weatherproof drinking and dining options.
Additional streets are also being pedestrianised to allow for extended al fresco dining include Henrietta Street, Floral Street, Maiden Lane and Southampton Street which join the already pedestrianised Piazza, King Street and James Street.
Restaurants benefiting from the move will include Frenchie, Cora Pearl, The Oystermen, The Ivy Market Grill, Balthazar, Avobar, Da Henrietta, and Din Tai Fung, with existing outdoor terraces around the piazza set to double in size.
