Pizza Pilgrims has secured a second London site for its aptly named New York pizza-by-the-slice concept Slice, joining the line-up of street food operators at Swingers West End.

Replacing fellow pizza concept Made of Dough, Slice will be joining existing food vendors Patty & Bun, Breddos Tacos and Hackney Gelato at the competitive socialising venue, which is set to reopen on 19 May following the lifting of lockdown restrictions on indoor hospitality.

Slice, which serves pizza by the 12-inch slice or the metre alongside a selection of sides and dippers, launched its debut site on the South Bank late last year, and has continued to trade for takeaway throughout the third national lockdown.

"We’re extremely excited to launch Slice by Pizza Pilgrims second site at Swingers West End, just in time for the reopening of the hospitality industry," says Pizza Pilgrims founders Thom and James Elliot

"After a successful launch on Southbank in January, we’re looking to continue serving London’s largest slices at Swingers West End.

"We’ve got history with Swingers dating back to their beginnings in Shoreditch, so it feels like we’re having a slice with a cold beer with an old friend after a tough year, and we invite you to join."

Last month, Pizza Pilgrims managing director Gavin Smith told BigHospitality’s sister website MCA that the group planned to open another Slice restaurant in the coming months, having taken over a former fish and chip shop opposite Finsbury Park Station.

In total the group is looking to open four new pizzerias in the capital by late summer, and has a further four in negotiations.

It is also planning to launch a dessert-focused concept majoring on sweet calzones called Calzonification at Kingly Court.
