The first collaboration under the new partnership will debut at Meliá’s INNSiDE Manchester, with further venues expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
Called First Street Bar & Kitchen, the Manchester restaurant will include an outdoor terrace, spritz bar, and an open-plan dining room.
The menu will feature only dishes created by D'Acampo and his team, with the chef and restaurateur harnessing his extensive knowledge of artisan Italian suppliers.
Part of Meliá Hotels International, INNSiDE by Meliá is set to open two new UK hotels this year in Newcastle and Liverpool, with further sites planned for launch in 2022.
“After many years of talking to Meliá about a partnership I am super excited to be working with Garry [Fortune, cluster general manager at Meliá Hotels International] and the team,” says D'Acampo.
“I want the restaurants to not only provide great Italian food to hotel guests but to be a destination for food lovers to hang out from morning until night in cool surroundings.
"My team will be working in partnership with Melia to deliver the highest standard of food service for guests, whether they are dining in my restaurant, attending a conference or celebrating a special occasion. I cannot wait to get started.”
D’Acampo operates eight restaurants under his name across the north of England.
In 2020 Gino D’Acampo Hotels & Leisure was formed, as part of the chef’s plans for international expansion.
