Rudy’s Vegan Diner has opened its second restaurant, in Islington, as part of its plans to open three to four new venues in the next 12 months.

The restaurant, which is located on Upper Street in Islington, will be the brand’s flagship site and follows the success of its debut restaurant in Camden and the opening of a vegan butcher in November 2020.

The new site, which will comprise an adjoining vegan butcher, covers 14,000sq ft and is styled in the design of a classic American diner with yellow booths, neon signs, backlit menu boards and a jukebox

The menu will serve Rudy’s signature veganised versions of classic American diner food, including its Ultimate Burger, a take on the classic hamburger with a grilled soya beef mince patty; the Rubenz sandwich with seitan pastrami on fresh rye bread; Mac ‘n’ Cheeze and dairy-free freakshakes.

Meat-free alternatives such as pastrami, baycon and meatballs are available to buy from the adjoining Rudy’s Vegan Butcher or order online for click & collect. A home delivery menu isalso be available for certain North London postcodes alongside DIY kits for creating Rudy’s dishes at home.

The launch follows the opening of a Rudy’s Vegan Butcher concession in Selfridges Foodhall earlier this month.
