Expected to open on 28 July, Kudu Grill will be the married pair’s fourth venture in Peckham, and follows the success of flagship Kudu, cocktail bar Smokey Kudu and events and private dining space Curious Kudu.
Williams - whose cooking CV prior to Kudu Collective includes Robin Gill's The Manor and Paradise Garage - will bring his South African roots to the fore, adding a playful twist to traditional food from the country. Most dishes will come straight from the open grill with the menu comprises five sections - snacks, starters, braai mains, sides and desserts.
Snacks included grilled potato flatbread with lardo and wild garlic; fried pigs’ tails with honey mustard; and spiced biltong. Starters include grilled prawns with peri peri butter; harissa beef tartare with crispy shallots; and duck terrine with biltong scratchings.
Grilled dishes, meanwhile, include dry-aged T-bone with beer pickled onions and onion treacle bordelaise; cauliflower, caper raisin, goat’s curd and kale; pork chop with monkey gland sauce; and whole black bream with zhug butter naans.
The 50-cover space's interior design has been led by Corbin and A-nrd Studio. Raw brick and concrete walls will line an open space with upholstered seats and booths.
Kudu Grill will open on Wednesday through to Sunday for lunch and dinner.
