Announced in early 2020 as Il Borro secured the former Nobu Berkley Street site in Mayfair, the launch has been delayed by the pandemic.
The restaurant brand is led by the London and Dubai-based Orange Hospitality but has links with Il Borro, a Tuscan wine estate that incorporates a Relais & Chateaux hotel and two restaurants.
Under the direction of executive chef Andrea Campani and head chef Fulvio Opalio, Il Borro Tuscan Bistro London will use ingredients will sourced directly from the estate’s organic farm, including honey, vegetables and organic olive oil.
Menu details have yet to be announced, but based on Il Borro Tuscan Bistro other sites diners can expect luxe takes on traditional Tuscan dishes.
The beverage programme will be centred around cocktails that incorporate Il Borro’s organic wines. The restaurant will also offer a number of wines produced on the estate including its signature Il Borro IGT Toscana, a Super Tuscan.
Spanning two floors, the interiors will encapsulate Il Borro’s 'philosophy of preserving a sense of place and tradition using neutral colours, warm lighting, and rustic wood panelling for an inviting dining experience'.
