Muse chef patron Tom Aikens is to open a restaurant in The Langham Jakarta this September.

Called Tom’s, the restaurant will be located on the 62nd floor of the newly-opened hotel and will serve ‘British and French influenced food prepared simply using the best seasonal quality produce’.

Aikens is also planning to bring ‘European nostalgia’ to the Indonesian capital’s dining scene with Gueridon service for some meat, burrata and various desserts. Champagnes and cocktails will also be presented and prepared for guests at the table.

Tom’s will be helmed by executive sous chef, Giles Langford, who was trained by Aikens.

Aikens has launched a number of restaurants outside the UK in locations including Dubai and Hong Kong but Tom’s will be the chef’s first restaurant in South East Asia.

"At Tom’s, the produce is the hero. We are celebrating flavours and harmonising taste and texture, working with the world’s best meat, imported or dry aged to perfection in-house, along with poultry and seasonal seafood prepared and cooked “on the bone” which is a superior method of cooking,” says Aikens.

“We are looking forward to unveil the city’s highly anticipated restaurant opening to the world after years of meticulous planning and working closely with the Tom Aikens team to craft and project the culinary vision into reality,” The Langham, Jakarta general manager says Gaylord Lamy.

“Set to elevate dining experiences in Jakarta, Tom’s is spacious yet intimate, and will be one of the most fascinating gastronomic ventures and social gathering places when it opens.”
