Netherlands-founded mono product restaurant The Avocado Show will finally launch its first London restaurant next month on Princes Street in Mayfair.

The 50-cover restaurant will be open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner with a menu that, as the name suggests, is focused on avocados.

Founded by friends Ron Simpson and Julien Zaal, The Avocado Show launched its first restaurant in Amsterdam in 2017 and now operates three sites in the city. It has since expanded to Brussels and Madrid.

The group originally planned to make its debut in the capital last year, but this was delayed as a result of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Dishes set to feature on the menu include the brands Insta-famous 'avocado bun burger' featuring a grain-fed beef patty, bacon, lettuce, tomato, red onion and grill sauce, served between two avocado halves; the 'Avo Garden' featuring avocado, hummus, spices, herbs and flowers, served with pita sticks; and avocado 'fries' with a panko crust and served with truffle mayo.

The Avocado Show has expanded internationally by way of a franchise model and has teamed up with an ‘established retail and hospitality group with operations in the UK and India’ for its inaugural London location.

It has previously been reported that the brand is looking to recruit other UK partners for ‘key cities and quality towns’ with Edinburgh, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Bristol, Oxford, Cambridge Guildford and Brighton among the locations mooted.

“We are excited to finally welcome London to The Avocado Show family," says Zaal.

"It has always been a dream of ours to open a location here."
