Restaurateur Linda Lee is carrying out a repositioning of her London-based Korean street food brand On The Bab to focus more on residential areas.

She recently closed On The Bab’s Covent Garden branch, on Wellington Street, after six years, coinciding with the end of the lease on the premises.

In October the group will open its first London location south of the river, a delivery-only kitchen in Nine Elms.

Lee is also currently in the advanced stages of securing a new bricks and mortar site for On The Bab in north London to join the group's existing restaurants in Shoreditch and St Paul’s.

“While the pandemic and lockdowns have created many challenges for my business and the wider hospitality industry worldwide, I am excited and optimistic about the future, and remain as committed as ever to London, the city I love and call home,” she says.

Lee also operates fine-dining Korean table BBQ restaurant KOBA in Fitzrovia.

On The Bab's first restaurant was opened in Shoreditch in 2013. As well as its London estate, it also operates a site on rue Thérèse in the Opéra district of Paris, France.

The menu features a range of Korean fried chicken dishes and bao buns, as well as rice and bibimbap bowls.
