Hampshire's Coldeast Mansion to reopen with new food and drink offer

The venue, in Sarisbury Green, was bought by Fern Property, a local privately owned company, off a guide price of £3.5m. It will reopen later this month.

The new owner says it will bring in a “high-quality food and beverage operation” with a daytime casual dining restaurant offer and the creation of six bespoke outdoor dining pods. There will also be an evening dining space, a Library bar and Admiral lounge.

Coldeast Mansion, a former mansion house, has its origins in the early 19th century and most recently was converted into an aparthotel providing 37 serviced apartments together with flexible event space for weddings and events. It sits on 8.9 acres of gardens and parkland and backs onto Holly Hill Park & Gardens nature reserve.

“We will breathe new life into this building through the introduction of a high-quality food and beverage operation that will sit perfectly alongside the generously proportioned accommodation units,” says Jason Parker, on behalf of Fern Property.

“Initially opening with a casual daytime dining offer, the Mansion will soon be able to offer six bespoke outdoor dining pods, evening dining, the Library bar and the Admiral lounge plus individually tailored events for discerning customers.

“Our primary focus is to create a high quality, well-run hospitality venue that will attract both locals and customers from further afield.  We firmly believe that the Mansion will become the go to venue in this area, be that for a cup of Lavazza coffee or a private dining experience for eight under the stars.”
