Chefs including Matt Abe, Hrishikesh Desai, Atul Kochhar, Monica Galetti, and Nieves Barragan Mohacho will be cooking at next year’s Obsession event at Northcote.

Following a year’s hiatus because of the Coronavirus pandemic, the cooking festival will return at the start of next year running from 21 January until 6 February with a focus on British and Irish food.

In total 16 chefs holding 15 Michelin stars between them will cook at the Lancashire hotel and Michelin starred restaurant, headed up by executive chef Lisa Goodwin-Allen, over 14 nights.

The festival will see chefs travel to Northcote from Edinburgh, Dublin, London Newcastle and beyond to cook their unique Obsession menus.

It will kick off with a meal cooked by Lisa Goodwin-Allen on Friday 21 January and will end with her being joined by Galetti and Barragan Mohacho for an all-female chef dinner.

“Obsession 22 is particularly special. After having to cancel this year’s festival due to the pandemic and with the hospitality industry taking such a hit, we’re all ready to put on a show of culinary brilliance,” says Goodwin-Allen.

“This year it was only right to bring all corners of Britain and Ireland together, focusing on the incredible talent that we have on our shores, but still with an injection of different styles of cooking, different regional ingredients and different flavours.”

Obsession launched in 2001 as a celebration of food, wine and a meeting of friends and has gone on to become one of the most anticipated events in the culinary calendar.
