Chefs Sam Edwards and Jak Doggett are return to their hometown of Cirencester to open a new restaurant and bar.

The owners of The Upton Firehouse in Burford have taken the site of the former West Cornwall Pasty Shop on Cricklade Street in the town with plans to turn the venue into a three-storey, all-day restaurant and bar.

The as yet unnamed restaurant is expected to open in November.

“We are both originally from Cirencester so it has always been our goal to open somewhere here, a venue that offers something a little different, modern contemporary dishes in the style that we have developed,” says Doggett. “Fresh produce, fresher flavours and served all day.”

The pair also run an outside catering business and cook for private clients as well as events and have launched their own range of sauces.

Edwards previously worked and trained at The Manor House in Moreton-in-Marsh with both chefs having also worked at Bibendum in London.

The duo have run The Upton Firehouse, which is located on the site of the Upton Smokery, for the past few years with the restaurant serving a range of barbecue food and pizzas.

“There is a lot to do but we are really looking forward to getting stuck into the new venture,” says Edwards.
