Figaro’s Bar to open on Shaftesbury Avenue

A bar promising to bring ‘an immersive vision of the South of France’ to central London will open on Shaftesbury Avenue next month.

Figaro’s Bar is inspired by a local bar located in the small fishing port of Cassis in Marseilles and said to attempt to evoke the spirit of the picturesque clifftop bar overlooking the Mediterranean Sea despite its West End theatre district location.

The 100-cover venue will be sited on the first floor of the old London Trocadero - between the Crystal Maze LIVE Experience and The Rainforest Café – with a Mediterranean-inspired Instagram-friendly decor that will include old house façade with rustic shutters, cat prints, a water feature and foliage and hanging wisteria from floor to ceiling.

The drinks list will feature wines including Maison No9, the rosé brand owned by American rapper Post Malone and Madri beer - collaboration between the brewers of La Sagra and Molson Coors –on tap as well as Blue Moon, Atlantic Pale Ale and Staropramen. There will also be a range of cocktails on tap.

Alongside the drinks menu the bar will serve a concise menu of bar snacks and small plates such as duck rillette, with toast and onion marmalade; and portobello mushroom croquettes.
