Top pastry chefs Graham Hornigold and Heather Kaniuk have chosen Camden's Hawley Wharf for their fourth Longboys site.

The upmarket doughnut brand is one of a number of new entrants at Hawley Wharf, which opened this summer, and which is now home to more than 30 independent food and beverage operators.

Hornigold and Kaniuk are two of the country's highest profile pastry chefs, having both held executive pastry chef roles at a string of top hotels and restaurant groups including Hakkasan Group and Mandarin Oriental.

The couple launched Longboys in 2019 and now operate further sites in Boxpark Wembley and Seven Dials Market in Covent Garden. They also together run consultancy business Smart Patisserie.

BigHospitality understands that further expansion is on the cards for Longboys, which offers long doughnuts with similar dimensions to an eclair with varieties including lemon meringue pie; pistachio raspberry; tiramisu; pandan coconut; peanut butter jelly; and raspberry rose lychee.

The pair will be joined by fellow dessert brand The Great British Cheesecake as well as Afghan street food brand 2 Lads Kitchen, Mexican street food player Chingon, Mikos Gyros, the fast-casual Greek brand, and Pakistani cheese-filled naan specialist Khaoo.

2 Lads Kitchen was founded by friends Zia Haidari and Gul Ahmad who have brought authentic Afghan street food to London with stalls at places including KERB. The Hawley Road site will be the pair’s first permanent site since launching the concept in 2019.

Menu items include steamed Afghan dumplings filled with minced lamb, onions, green, yellow, red pepper and spices; and wraps with fillings such as lamb fillets and barbecued chicken thigh.

“Camden has a really diverse food scene, so we’re excited to bring a little taste of the Afghan streets to the streets of North London,” they say.

“We’ve felt so much love from Londoners over the past two and half years, and it’s always been our dream to have a permanent base where people can come and taste the flavours of home – we’re glad Camden Market Hawley Wharf is that new home”.

The new entrants join existing brands at Hawley Wharf, including Camden-born seafood specialists Shrimpy; Bang On Burgers; Duck Duck; DZRT; and Hola Guacamole.
