Chef Dipna Anand will open her latest restaurant in Somerset House’s South Wing later this month in partnership with Restaurant Associates.

Called Dipna’s Restaurant & Bar it will serve authentic Punjabi and South Indian cuisine that reflects Anand and here family’s heritage dating back to the 1950s.

Signature dishes will include samosa chaat blast; Dehli makhani chicken; South Indian prawn curry; and dynamite wings as well as vegetarian and classic thali plates. The drinks list will feature a number of Indian wines and classic Indian beverages such as a mango lassi.

The restaurant’s interior design will reference Anand’s heritage in Kenya and India with artwork and personal photos alongside a  palette of textured blue walls and copper features, herringbone flooring and orange banquettes.

“I am super excited to be opening my new restaurant in the heart of London at Somerset House. Dipna’s Restaurant & Bar promises to bring you an Indian dining experience nothing less than brilliant,” she says.

“The menu is a true reflection of me and my family’s heritage dating back to the 1950s. Expect to experience my signature thali and favourites such as dynamite wings and my delicious samosa chaat blast.

“My ongoing relationship with Restaurant Associates continues to strengthen and has given me this incredible opportunity to bring my expertise to this iconic venue in the centre of London. I look forward to welcoming you and sharing my love for Indian cuisine in this exquisite location.”

Anand is co-owner of Brilliant Restaurant in Southall and runs a cookery school. She has an exclusive partnership with Restaurant Associates for whom she is brand chef for a Punjabi range of dishes she has created for the company.

“We have had the privilege of working with Dipna Anand for a number of years now, she has helped us to train our chefs and inspire our customers’ food choices,” says Matt Thomas, managing director at Restaurant Associates and Rapport.

“We believe that her authentic cooking, brilliant flavour combinations and energetic delivery will assist us in driving traction, footfall and excitement into this beautiful space."
