US hotel group Standard Hotels will open its first venue in Ireland in 2025.

The 200-bedroom hotel will be located at Connolly Quarter in the heart of Dublin city centre and will form part of a mixed-use development directly connected to Ireland’s largest transport hub.

Global real estate advisor CBRE has advised property developer Ballymore on securing a hotel management agreement with Standard Hotels. “This is an ideal partnership between a best-in-class developer and one of the most stylish hotel brands worldwide,” says Dave Murray, director for Ireland hotels at CBRE

“Situated in a prime location with a superb food and beverage offering, this hotel opening will create something very special for the City of Dublin.”

The US hotel group made its debut in London in 2019 with the opening of a hotel in King’s Cross. The 266-room hotel, which occupies a Brutalist 1974 built building, is home to Peter Sanchez-Iglesia’s top floor Decimo restaurant as well as ground floor bar and restaurant Double Standard.

The first The Standard hotel was launched in Los Angeles in 1998 by US hotelier Andre Balazs and the hotel group now operates venues across the US as well as in Bangkok and Hua Hin in Thailand and in the Maldives.

It will also open hotels in Brussels, Lisbon, Ibiza, Singapore and Melbourne in the coming years.
