Thai restaurant group Rosa’s Thai is making the move into retail with a range of branded sauces and pastes.

Five products are being launched based on their popularity in the restaurants - Massaman curry paste; Thai red and green curry pastes; chilli oil; and satay sauce, each made to the same recipes as those used in the restaurants.

Massaman curry has been a menu bestseller since 2011 and is made using ingredients such as tamarind, lemongrass and chillies as well as star anise and cardamom. The green curry paste is inspired by Rosa’s founder Saiphin Moore’s aunt, who would serve it to monks in the local temple in Phetchabun, northern Thailand.

The product range will be available for purchase in gift-pack format with nationwide delivery from rosas-thai.myshopify.com and are also available in Rosa’s Thai restaurants. Curry pastes are priced at £5.95 for 250g jars, with the chilli oil priced at £3.95 and satay sauce at £4.95.

Rosa’s Thai was opened in Spitalfields in 2008 by Moore and now operates 25 restaurants in London, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and Manchester, with launches in York and Cardiff expected in early 2022.
