V Honest will take over the brand’s existing bricks-and-mortar restaurant on Covent Garden's Garrick Street next month as it also goes live across 'multiple delivery-only kitchens' in London.
V Honest will combine ‘the key tenets of classic Honest Burgers’ with ‘an innovative, completely new menu of plant-based burgers, sauces and sides’.
The menu will ‘showcase the best in plant-based innovation’, with collaborators including foraging experts Fable Food Co, zero-waste pioneers Rubies in the Rubble, and THIS.
V Honest will offer Honest’s most extensive vegan selection to date, with a menu combining vegan takes on Honest’s classic - including the Honest and Tribute burger which have been on the menu since the brand launched in 2011 - with new serves, including the Buffalo, the Teriyaki, and the Pesto.
These will be joined by limited-edition specials and collaborations with suppliers, chefs and street food traders.
Honest Burgers - which currently operates around 40 restaurants - was among the first of the major burger brands to create a well-thought out and ambitious vegan offering.
“We launched our first vegan and flexitarian burgers in 2018, and we’ve seen them go from strength to strength,” says co-founder Tom Barton. “But we just don’t have space in our Honest Burgers kitchens to put more plant based burgers on the menu so we felt the best thing to do was to give them a home of their own.
“V Honest is that home and it gives us the chance to spend even more time developing brand new burgers, collaborations and showcasing some of the best vegan food in the country.”
Speaking to BigHospitality earlier this year, Barton said that the brand’s vegan sales were 'massive' and that plant-based was now an integral part of the business.
