The poké restaurant operator, part of the Glasgow-based Hero Brands portfolio, will open its first restaurant in the Scottish capital in Q1 of next year.
“Expanding into Scotland is a huge moment for us, and we can’t wait to begin working with our franchise network within the Hero Brands group and explore further opportunities for growth,” says Island Poké founder James Gould-Porter.
“It’s very exciting to be bringing Island Poké to Edinburgh.”
Island Poké operates 15 restaurants and four dark kitchens in London as well as eight restaurants in France. It plans to open 30 new UK locations next year with a new partnership with dark-kitchen operators REEF set to treble its current UK footprint.
Island Poké launched on Soho’s Kingly Street in 2016 with the company expanding across the channel last year.
The company recently opened restaurants on Upper Street in Islington and Richmond and plans to open two other new venues in the capital, in Clapham and Notting Hill, in early 2022.
Owner Hero Brands’ portfolio also includes German Doner Kebab and Choppaluna, the dine-in salad brand which has locations in London’s Bloomsbury and Berlin.
