Scottish bar and restaurant operator MacMerry300 is bringing its Abandon Ship brand to Covent Garden next year as part of its plans to expand the concept across the UK.

The 44-cover bar will be the group’s third Abandon Ship bar,  joining locations in Dundee and Glasgow, and its 14th venue in total.

It will serve a drinks menu focused on rums, cocktails, and Scottish favourites like Irn Bru as well as food such as burgers, fries, nachos and chicken wings.

MacMerry300 is undergoing a period of growth with a number of new openings plans for 2022, with a further six Abandon Ships in the pipeline across the UK.

“As a brand, growing our concept to something next level, the bright lights of London could be the only choice,” says operations director, AJ McMenemy.

“There’s nothing quite like Abandon Ship anywhere. Bringing an inclusive ethos with art at heart; a passion for quality product, and a drive to share endless experiences night after night. Launching in London is our most significant milestone yet.”

MacMerry 300 was set up in 2010 by McMenemy and Phil Donaldson. The first Abandon Ship Bar opened in Dundee in 2019 followed by Glasgow in autumn 2021.

The London venue will open at 63 Neil Street in January in the venue that was formerly home to pintxo restaurant PIX.
