Applications are open for contestants for the next series of the BBC’s cooking competition MasterChef: The Professionals.

Back for its 15th series, professional chefs with a range of culinary backgrounds and experiences are being invited to put themselves forward to the TV cooking competition and be judged by top chefs Monica Galetti and Marcus Wareing alongside Gregg Wallace.

MasterChef: the Professionals has been a platform for chefs gaining wider visibility, including Dan Lee, Louisa Ellis, Gary Maclean, Santosh Shah, William Chilila, Adam Handling, Elly Wentworth, Stuart Deeley, and Marianne Lumb.

Chefs will compete in a series of heats judged by Galetti, Wareing and Wallace and will also have their cooking appraised by a number of the UK’s leading restaurant critics, who have in the past included Jay Rayner, Jimi Famurewa, Tracey MacLeod, William Sitwell, Grace Dent, and Tom Parker Bowles.

No date has been released for the series, which was last year won by chef Dan Lee.

Applications for chefs close on 25 March.
