Ajay Chaurasia to open Bombay Delight in Wimbledon

The 120-cover Bombay Delight will launch in Wimbledon on 18 February.

The menu is described as featuring a number of lesser-known, regional Indian dishes, such as nashila gosh lamb curry with red wine and rum; and the lamb angara, a slow-cooked curry using smoked lamb, onion, tomato, ginger and garlic, alongside classics such as Bombay butter chicken.

It will also celebrate south Indian seafood curries including a jhinga dil bahar king prawn curry with tomato and coconut milk; and a Keralan monkfish alleppey with coconut and raw mango.

“Our goal is to use fresh, high quality ingredients to create authentic Indian dishes that diners will love. With Bombay Delight I really want to showcase all that Indian cuisine has to offer,” says Chaurasia.

“Having a variety of curries and other regional dishes that Londoners might never have heard of on the menu gives me the chance to introduce them to lesser-known Indian specialities. Especially when it comes to seafood, there are so many fantastic recipes which make use of it, and I really wanted to showcase this at the new restaurant.”

Chaurasia also operates a restaurant in Vauxhall’s Nine Elms which is currently open for delivery only.
