Bavarian-style restaurant and bar brand Albert’s Schloss is to open a huge, multi-faceted site later this year in Liverpool

Set over two floors, the Bold Street space will feature a restored 1,000 sq ft glazed atrium with a large stage for live music; green room; two bars; an artisan bakery; a fresh tank beer system; and restaurant dining for more than 500 guests.

Brand owner Mission Mars, which also operates Rudy's Pizza, is investing £3m into the new site, which in its heyday was a gas showroom and has stood empty since 2019.

"Our new Albert’s Schloss is in a stunning art-deco building and we’re delighted to be bringing it back to life," says Roy Ellis, CEO of Mission Mars.

The upstairs will house Ludwig’s Tavern, offering artisan Schnapps; a vermouth bar; and competitive socialising games including shuffleboard. Ludwig's Tavern will also be available for private parties and other special events.

Ellis adds that there are also plans for a roof top terrace and a large open-air beer garden around the back.

The Liverpool venue will create 200 jobs and is set to open in the autumn.  It will be the third Albert’s Schloss, following the flagship Albert’s Schloss Manchester, housed on the ground floor of Manchester's historic Albert Hall; and Albert’s Schloss Birmingham, which opened in December 2021 in Chamberlain Square.

Mission Mars also operates Liverpool‘s Albert’s Schenke on Hanover Street, an offshoot of the Albert’s Schloss brand that launched in 2019.
