Renowned French pastry chef Angelo Musa will bring his high-end creations to Harrods later this year as part of a 'partnership' deal with the Knightsbridge department store.

No details have been released on the concept, but it is expected to launch in May this year.

Currently executive pastry chef at Paris’s Hotel Plaza Athénée, Musa is known for his avant-garde techniques and has won a string of awards including the Meilleur Ouvrier de France and World Pastry Champion.

“I am incredibly proud to bring my take on the best pastry to Harrods, a prestigious name that resonates with so many throughout the world,” he says.

“This launch is incredibly exciting as it represents our debut in London, a city with such a strong energy. To be part of such an iconic British institution and showcasing the art of pastry is a true privilege.”

Musa will follow in the footsteps of Cedric Grolet - another superstar French pastry chef to have recently crossed The Channel.

Harrods director of restaurants and kitchens Ashley Saxton described Musa as “a true visionary in the culinary world, who showcases the utmost craftsmanship in pastry”.

“To be bringing his culinary innovation to our guests demonstrates the breadth of our hospitality offering at Harrods which is hugely exciting,” Saxton continued.

Musa’s appointment is part of a significant ramping up of Harrods F&B that is being led by high profile international chefs.

Last year, it was announced that three-star Swedish chef Björn Frantzén is to make his UK debut later this year at the world famous department store.
