Alan and Mark Wogan will open a fully plant-based Homeslice in Shoreditch later this month.

Homeslice by Symplicity will use a range of products made by Symplicity, the plant-based food brand founded by the pair and chef Neil Rankin during the pandemic.

The restaurant will offer six pizzas alongside sauces, drinks and desserts.

The launch follows a record breaking period for Homeslice’s plant-based options at its existing sites in Covent Garden, Marylebone, Shoreditch and The City).

Orders of the vegan pizzas ‘nduja, tenderstem broccoli, chilli and garlic oil’; and ‘mushroom, ricotta, pumpkin seeds, chilli and soy truffle glaze’ have risen by 25% since launching in 2019.

Rankin says he launched Symplicity in a bid to make plant-based options both delicious and nutritious, compared with “processed and bland meat-free alternatives that had hitherto dominated the market”.

“Having access to Symplicity’s full product range really inspired us to create a menu of pizzas that will excite any palate. The quality of what they do aligns perfectly with our core values,” says Mark, who founded Homeslice with Alan in 2011.

“We’re really proud and excited by what we’ve created together and we can’t wait for the Homeslice brand to broaden its customer and fanbase even further through the concept.”
