Max Halley and Ethan Davids will launch a delivery service focused on the North Eastern delicacy parmo at their Bath pub The Sam Weller’s later this month.

The Parmo Shop will offer the Middlesbrough-created snack - which is essentially a schnitzel covered in tomato sauce, béchamel and cheese - via delivery from a ‘well-known app’ and also to eat-in.

Described by the pair as ‘pizzas made of meat’ the snacks will be available in meat (pork) and vegetarian (aubergine) varieties with toppings including mortadella, artichoke and truffle oil; and ham and pineapple.

The Parmo Shop will trade on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings (7-10pm) and all day on Saturday and Sundays (12-10pm).

The duo plan to bring the concept to their Salisbury pub The Five Bells in the near future.

“Why should the people of Middlesbrough be the only ones to have pizzas made of meat?” Halley says. “Especially after a beverage or two, there is literally nothing on planet earth I’d rather eat, bearing in mind I’ve already had a sandwich.”

Halley - who is best known for his Max’s Sandwich Shop in North London - teamed up with publican Davies to launch a string of pubs late last year.

The two pubs the pair have launched so far are simple affairs that encourage guests to bring their own food in with them or order in from other establishments.
