Salt Yard Group is to open its fifth London restaurant this week at Westfield in Shepherd’s Bush, with a further site in the capital planned for later this year.

Opening on the southern terrace of the west London retail and leisure destination, Salt Yard Westfield will be serving a menu of small plates celebrating the flavours, traditions and ingredients of Spain and Italy.

“As part of our ever-growing dining offer, we’re delighted to welcome Salt Yard to Westfield London, bringing their expertise in Spanish and Italian cuisine to west London,” says Katie Wyle, general manager of Westfield London.

“We know our visitors are always looking for new experiences and new menus when eating out, so we’re confident Salt Yard’s stylish new venue, delicious dishes and curated menu of cocktails and wines will be hugely popular and complement our existing dining offer.”

Featuring an interior of exposed brick, rich brass, green velvet banquettes and tapas bar high tables, Salt Yard Westfield will feature an enclosed terrace area alongside its bar and restaurant space.

The menu will feature dishes including hand-carved Jambon ibérico de bellotta; roasted piquillo pepper croquetas with whipped caprino fresco; braised lamb breast with rosemary scented cannellini beans and wild garlic; charred octopus with arroz negro and saffron alioli; and courgette flowers, monte enebro and blossom honey.

Drinks will include an extensive wine list, as well as a range of classic and signature cocktails.

Having first opened Salt Yard in Fitzrovia in 2005, the new opening is the first since Salt Yard Group became part of Urban Pubs & Bars family in 2018 and will be joined by another Salt Yard restaurant opening later in 2022.

“We’re thrilled to be opening Salt Yard at Westfield London,” says Nick Pring, founder and director of Urban Pubs & Bars.

“The opening marks Salt Yard Group’s first restaurant in west London and the first Salt Yard opening since the group became part of the Urban Pubs & Bars family. We’re excited to welcome people in and bring some Spanish and Italian flair to the area.”

The Salt Yard Group portfolio also includes restaurants Dehesa and Ember Yard in Soho, and Opera Tavern in Covent Garden.
