Korean restaurant group Grounded Kitchen is looking to open 50 new sites across the UK as part of a franchise drive.

The restaurant group plans to invest £15m in the rollout and is looking to sign up 25 franchise partners at a time.

Grounded Kitchen was launched in Leicester in 2017 serving a range of superfood bowls, ssam baps, and Korean bao. It has a focus on serving ‘instagrammable’ dishes that are free-from, flexitarian, vegan, vegetarian and plant based although beef, prawns and chicken also feature on the menu.

“We’re incredibly excited to be rolling out the Grounded Kitchen experience across the UK and to be working with some fantastic partners on multiple sites,” says Ralph Llanwarne, franchise director at Grounded Kitchen.

“Grounded Kitchen is one of the most exciting franchise opportunities to come to the market in years and this is a rare opportunity to get in on the ground level.

“We are actively looking to engage with ambitious partners to join us, as we continue the expansion of Grounded Kitchen across the UK. We are particularly interested in experienced partners looking to develop multiple sites with us.”

The brand currently operates restaurants in Leicester as well as Loughborough, Market Harborough, Leamington Spa, West Bridgford in Nottingham, Worcester, and Headington in Oxford.

Its most recent restaurant opened earlier this month in Watford.
