Tim Hortons to open first dark kitchen as expansion drive continues apace

Canadian restaurant brand Tim Hortons is to open its first dark kitchen in London following its entrance in the capital last month.

Its delivery-only kitchen we be located in Kentish Town in north London and will have delivery radius of two square miles. Its products, which include breakfast buns, burgers, coffee and a large range of pancakes and doughnuts, will be available via platforms including UberEats, Just Eat and Deliveroo.

It come on the heels of its debut drive-thru London restaurant​, which opened in Park Royal in July that offer both dine in and drive-thru options as well as delivery.

The new opening is part of Tim Hortons’ plans to double its estate across the UK by the end of 2023 with London a key part of its plans.

The group now operates 59 restaurantsin the UK, and says several key locations are in the pipeline across drive-thru and high street over the coming months.

“Opening our first site in London was a huge milestone for Tim Hortons, as we entered a brand-new territory, but to our delight, the opening was a huge success and demand in Park Royal is still phenomenal,” says Kevin Hydes, chief commercial officer of Tim Hortons franchise in the UK commented.

“This highlighted the demand for our offering within the Capital, with North London being an area of interest. This dark kitchen delivery format allows us to trial a new concept, focusing on a fast delivery service throughout the day and we are excited by the potential it offers.”

“Our model has continued to prove its success and we are continuing to grow the Tim Hortons estate, both in London and nationwide with multiple formats.”
