Healthy fast food brand Leon is to open three new central London restaurants.

The new sites, in Brixton, Euston Road, and Battersea, will join recent launches from the company in the capital that include Angel, Waterloo Bridge and Kensington.

The company has also announced plans to expand in other areas of London including Clapham and Southbank later in the year, part of its overall vision to have a total of 100 sites by the end of the year.

“Leon started out as a London concept with our first ever restaurant on Carnaby Street. Even though we’ve since expanded throughout the UK, and even further afield, Leon will always have an affinity with London and offer an experience that is absolutely suited to city life," says Glenn Edwards, managing director of Leon Restaurants.

“This is why expanding across the city, and catering to more and more Londoners, is something that’s so exciting for us at Leon. We are delighted to announce these openings and look forward to launching even more restaurants across the capital later this year and beyond.”

As well as other recent London openings, Leon has expanded further afield with new openings in Harrogate and Milton Keynes.

Under the ownership of EG Group, it has also opened sites in Bluewater, as well as new formats, including the counter-stye and the drive-thru, which opened recently in Gildersome.

Earlier this month Leon also announced it was expanding the availability of its grocery range, currently stocked in Sainsbury's, by bringing the range to Ocado and ASDA.

It launched the grocery line in 2019 exclusively into Sainsbury’s with the range growing to include plant-based sides, frozen waffle fries, dips, soups, salads and naturally vegan condiments, including Korean mayo and aioli.

Leon managing director Glenn Edwards and grocery managing director Ashley Davis will be discussing how its new ownership under EG Group is enabling new approaches to reaching customers, including drive thru openings, digital transformation such as customer ordering screens, and branded products into retail at next month's The Omnichannel Foodservice Conference.
