Britain’s largest brewer, Molson Coors, and Sky TV have today announced that they will be working in collaboration to help boost footfall, reduce costs and provide an improved customer experience for UK pub licensees.

In a first for the industry, independent licensed premises that buy a Sky TV commercial subscription and drinks from Molson Coors’ portfolio, can save up to a third on their Sky Ultimate subscription and get a price freeze on Carling until December 2013. In addition, customers will be able to receive free WiFi.

“We all know the difficulties that the independent on-trade is facing,” said Simon Cox, wholesale business managing director at Molson Coors. “Molson Coors and Sky are committed to supporting the industry by helping to drive people into their local.

“Nothing does that better than the mix of great drinks and top class sport. We have joined forces to offer significant savings at a time when we know our customers are particularly price sensitive.”

The deal forms part of Molson Coors’ review of the services and experience it offers its on-trade customers. The discounts will be in addition to the current food and location discounts offered by Sky.
