Redefine BDL Hotels increases portfolio by 22 properties
The company will assume management of the22 new hotels in January 2015. The hotels have an annual turnover of more than £200m and will add nearly 6000 rooms, as well as 2300 staff, to Redefine BDL Hotels’ portfolio.
The appointment makes Redefine BDL Hotels the largest manager of InterContinental Hotels Group franchised properties in Europe and the UK’s largest independent hotel management company.
Chief executive of Redefine BDL Hotels Helder Pereira said: “This is a landmark addition to the Redefine BDL Hotels portfolio and we are very pleased with the quality and prestige of the properties we will be managing and the calibre of the workforce we are inheriting.

Plans for growth
Since the appointment, Redefine BDL Hotels intends to increase its team of central hotel specialists from 95 to 135. Its London base will move to a new, larger office, and the Glasgow office will be expanded to help with the growth.
Managing director for Redefine BDL Hotels Stewart Campbell said: “These additions will increase the Redefine BDL Hotels portfolio to 70 hotels, including 23 Holiday Inn hotels and six Crowne Plaza hotels.
“As well as raising our total in-hotel staff numbers to more than 4,500, we will significantly increase our central office teams and expand our premises, all of which contribute to our plans to grow the business and build on our success to date.”
