Restaurateur Farkhod Najmetdinov has opened the first location of his Neapolitan pizza parlour brand Motherdough.

The 1,087sq ft restaurant is located at Gauging Square – a central piazza, inspired by the renowned French Miroir d’eau at the Place de le Bourse in Bordeaux - at London Dock in Wapping.

It offers a wide selection of authentic Neapolitan sourdough pizzas as well as natural wines by Top Cuvée.

Pizza options include MD Truffle, made with wild mushrooms, house made truffle cream, roasted caramel potatoes and Fior di Latte mozzarella; Wild Fire – smoked provola cheese, wild broccoli, Italian sausage and fresh basil; Pulled Lamb – 12-hour cooked lamb, wild mushrooms, Fior di Latte mozzarella and rosemary; and Vegan Love – artichoke, roasted vegetables and pepper, fresh basil and tomato sauce with pine nuts

Najmetdinov is also behind independent brunch café BOBO & WILD, which has locations in Shoreditch Park, Clapham Common and South Woodford.

“Motherdough is rooted in carefully and sustainably sourced ingredients, precise preparation, and a genuine excitement to serve a vibrant and friendly neighbourhood,” he says.

“We build communities around our tables and we’re extremely excited to be doing so at London Dock. Its cosmopolitan feel, central riverside location and rich history in amidst an already thriving, established community were just some of the reasons why we chose Gauging Square as our first location and we can’t wait to see where it takes us.”
