Cantonese roast meats specialist Mama Li is to open a second London site following the success of its debut location in Tower Hill.

Founder Catherine Hua has secured a site at London Wall near Moorgate tube station and expects to launch towards the end of the month.

Hua has also stated that she hopes to launch further sites under the brand across the capital.

Like the inaugural site in Tower Hill, the new venue will focus on City workers operating Monday to Friday only.

Inspired by Hua’s mother, Mama Li initially launched as a dark kitchen in Shoreditch with its Tower Hill location launching in 2020.

“Since opening our first branch at Tower Hill, Mama Li has been embraced by the community with overwhelming enthusiasm,” Hua says. “The success of our Tower Hill location has propelled us to expand our culinary offering across London.”

“Our recipes, especially our renowned roast meats, are authentic Mama Li creations, meticulously crafted with the finest ingredients and all prepared in-house using time-honoured roasting methods.”

“Every meal evokes the warmth and familiarity of home, reminiscent of our cherished childhood kitchen. It’s my heartfelt aspiration that our dishes can offer the same comforting feel of a home-cooked meal.”
