The team behind erstwhile Mayfair restaurant Paparazzi Café will launch an Italian restaurant in Chelsea early next month.

Fellini intends to restore ‘authentic Italian hospitality into the London dining scene’ prioritising a’ personal touch and valued relationships over gimmicks and maximalism’.

The food is being billed as approachable and unfussy, with Fellini offering a considered menu of classic Italian dishes.

Options will include Fellini primavera with homemade aubergine and basil pesto and courgette; ravioli rossi (spicy chickpea-filled pasta served with a butter and sage sauce); veal Milanese; Fellini tiramisu; and a flourless chocolate cake.

Design features at the Draycott Avenue site will include olive trees; black and white photography; backlit banquet seating; Roman blinds in olive linen; and a Terrazzo marble bar runs the length of the room.

The dining room will seat 75 covers inside, with a wrap-around terrace providing another 20 al fresco covers that will open to the public in June.

“We’ve been looking forward to opening our door at Fellini for some time now. Our commitment to ‘Come Era Una Volta’, or ‘How It Used to Be’, will be prevalent in the restaurant as we revive the personal touch of 20th century Italy, delivering true hospitality and timeless service,” says owner Tony Aalam, who launched Paparazzi Café in 1993 on Mayfair's Hanover Street.

“We hope that Fellini will naturally become a go-to for our neighbours and indeed draw visitors from across the city. We are filled with anticipation and eager to greet our guests.”
