BBC Bake Off contestant Martha to be Wimbledon afternoon tea consultant

The youngest ever BBC Great British Bake Off contestant, Martha Collison, is to be the official afternoon tea advisor at The Championships at Wimbledon, alongside food designed by the Roux family.

Collison will join corporate hospitality provider Keith Prowse to advise on the international tennis tournament’s afternoon tea within The Gatsby Club venue, which will also serve food designed by three generations of the legendary Roux family – namely Albert Roux, his son Michel Roux Jr, and granddaughter Emily Roux. She will be on-site for the entire tournament.

The Wimbledon Championships will this year take place from 27 June to 10 July.

Collison appeared on BBC smash hit show The Great British Bake Off in 2014 when she was 17 years old. Since then, she has built a YouTube video presence with over 1.5 million views, writes a weekly column for Waitrose Weekend, and is set to launch her first baking book ‒ Twist: Creative Ideas to Re-invent Your Baking ‒ on 14 July.

Andy Vinsen, chief operating officer at Keith Prowse, said: “As our afternoon tea advisor, Martha will bring to the fore one of Wimbledon’s finest traditions, with an added twist. I’m absolutely delighted that she will be joining us in The Gatsby Club for the whole fortnight.”

Collison commented: “The opportunity to bring my own twist on afternoon tea to such a prestigious event is extremely exciting.”
