Farncombe Estate in the Cotswolds has opened a new ‘affordable boutique’ hotel as part of its third phase of redevelopment.

The Fish, which opened yesterday (1 June) features 43 rooms spread throughout three refurbished buildings, with prices starting from £125 per night.

Restaurant and bar space The Lodge serves a menu of seasonal British dishes and local Cotswold produce, designed by Head Chef Mark Coleman.

The site includes facilities for meetings and retreats for up to 120 delegates.

Andrew Grahame, CEO Farncombe Estate, said: “The opening of The Fish is another significant milestone for Farncombe as it brings together both a new type of accommodation and the wide range of activities we offer on the estate.  This very exciting addition will not only enable us to reach more leisure and corporate guests, but also serves to demonstrate that price doesn’t have to mean compromising on style and service.”

The Fish is the third hotel to open on the Estate, which features Dormy House and Foxhill Manor - an eight-room private house hotel which opened in March 2014 following a £2.5m investment.

Its name stems from tales of Bendictine Monks from Evesham Abbey who used to keep and cure their fish stocks in the nearby hillside.

Farncombe is now the only estate in the UK which features a three, four and five-star hotel offering.
