The Gordon Ramsay Group has confirmed plans to open its next restaurant - London House - in Battersea next February.

Building work is currently underway at the site in Battersea Square, formerly Bennett’s Brasserie and Oyster Bar, and is expected to be completed by mid-January to allow for the opening in February.

The 65-cover restaurant, with its 'neutral pallet of soft grey and slate blue, wooden floors and leather seating' plans to offer 'a comfortable, relaxed and welcoming' dining experience with a separate 35-cover lounge area providing a place for drinks and will offer a cocktail list, London-brewed beers and a select wine list.

Chef Anna Kelly, who has worked in kitchens in Ireland, France, Spain and more recently Los Angeles, and whose husband Colin is head chef and co-owner of Picture restaurant, has been appointed head chef and plans to serve a modern European menu that will use seasonal and market-led produce.

Restaurant manager is Yorkshire-born Paul Halliwell, who has worked at a number of restaurants in London including La Trompette in Chiswick and Odette's in Primrose Hill.

London House's opening will follow the latest in the group - Union Street Cafe, which opened its doors for business in September and will take the group's London presence up to 12 and 26 worldwide.

A spokesperson for the group, which is run by Stuart Gillies, said it had decided on Battersea for its latest opening as it was a 'great area' and 'an adaptable site'.
