May
The nation went to the polls in May amid concerns that a hung parliament could create 'uncertainty' for businesses.
However, the industry welcomed the 'clear' election result, allowing the Conservative party to form its first majority government for nearly 20 years.
British Hospitality Association (BHA) chief executive Ufi Ibrahim said the result left 'no room for excuses' and warned that the hospitality and tourism industry expected 'the new Government to start delivering from day one'.
Ibrahim added that the BHA would continue to push for a cut in tourism VAT, despite the Conservative manifesto failing to pledge a reduction of the tax.
