Trade invited to source Real Food
500 small producers will be at the Real Food Festival at Earls Court this May

Those with responsibility for buying products for food businesses are being invited to attend the trade day at this year`s Real Food Festival.

Five hundred small producers, hand-picked by the Real Food selection committee, will be at the festival at London`s Earl`s Court on May 8.

The show is designed to promote producers of high quality, ethical and sustainable food and gives buyers the chance to talk directly to the people involved in production.

Festival director Philip Lowery said: “We directly subsidise producers to be at the show because we believe that they should have an equal opportunity to find both individual customers and commercial buyers alike, regardless of the size of their business."

Rosie Boycott, chair of London Food and a festival supporter said it was `vitally important` to promote and celebrate great food at a time when cheap food was becoming headline news.

She said: "In London we are witnessing an explosion of interest in high quality food, providing fantastic opportunities for producers in the capital. The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, and I are determined to champion London`s vibrant and diverse food sector in order to boost accessibility to healthy, locally sourced food."

The Real Food Festival runs from May 8 to 10. For tickets and more information visit www.realfoodfestival.co.uk
