Hampshire-based restaurant and bar group Reach for the Stars opens an ethical fish bistro and bar in the West Sussex town of Midhurst.

Hampshire-based restaurant and bar group Reach for the Stars is to open an ethical fish bistro and bar in the West Sussex town of Midhurst.

The new 70-cover restaurant will be the company’s fifth site and will be opened under its Seven Fish brand.

Steve Cropper, who founded the company in 2004 with David Stanton, said: “We have ambitious plans to add to our existing estate and continue to look for suitable sites across Hampshire for our Seven Fish and Propaganda Music Canteen brands.

“Even in these difficult times for our industry we believe that quality, service and high standards in a relaxed, friendly environment mixed with an ethical trading philosophy and a culture of empowering staff and management will always win through”

Reach for the Stars Group owns four sites in Hampshire already; Propaganda Music Canteens in Fleet and Andover, a Seven Fish bistro and bar in Ringwood and the Ketch Rigger bar and restaurant in Southampton’s Hamble Point Marina.

Keith Goodwin, associate director at Christie & Co, the agent in charge of the sale said the deal was a ‘prime example’ of a regional operator taking advantage of current market conditions to increase its portfolio
