Fried chicken and waffle restaurant group Bird will open its first venue outside of the capital later this month.

Located in the Hempstead Valley Shopping Centre in Gillingham, Kent, on 12 November, the restaurant will debut a new weekend breakfast menu with the view to expand the offering into its London locations in the New Year.

The new opening is part of the company’s expansion and development plans. The company has recently made improvements to its three London restaurants in Camden, Islington and Canary Wharf, including the addition of three screens TV for customers to watch sport at the Islington site

“We’re really excited and ready for the new BIRD opening at Hempstead Valley. It’s a great location, right in the heart of the Shopping centre with a great team in place that are raring to go. As we’ve been in the restaurant busy working on the fit out, we’ve met a few locals as well as people working in the shops close by, and everyone has been so welcoming and excited for us to open – as are we,” says senior partner Charles Beer.

Bird was founded in 2014 in Hoxton and the Hempstead Valley restaurant will be the fourth in the group.
