The White Brasserie Company will open its first new restaurant since the pandemic this autumn.

The pub restaurant group has taken over the former Maison Sax site and says it will return the venue to its former glory as a traditional pub.

It will reopen on 17 October 17 following an extensive refurbishment with space for 150 covers in the main dining area and a 100-cover terrace and garden complete with outdoor fireplace and heated covered cabana area.

The interiors will feature British-made wool tartans, bespoke deep-buttoned vintage leather banquettes, striking wallpapers and ‘our favourite quirky touches’, according to the company.

It will serve a menu of traditional pub classics with French influences with meat sourced from Aubrey Allen.

The group already has two venues in the local area, The Oaks in Highcliffe and Brasserie Blanc in Bournemouth.

“The Britannia represents our third venue in the region. It is a fantastic space, and we hope it will be a popular destination for locals and visitors alike with inviting spaces for food and drink, fun interiors and cosy snugs as well as a stunning garden,” says Richard Ferrier, managing director at Brasserie Bar Co, the parent company of The White Brasserie and Brasserie Blanc.
