Daisy Green plans 'most ambitious project to date' with third City restaurant
Three years in the making, Paradise Green will occupy a 10,000sq ft space and is playfully inspired by Surfers Paradise on Queensland's Gold Coast where Daisy Green co-founder, Prue Freeman, spent her university years.
The launch comes amid a flurry of activity for Daisy Green, which was founded by Freeman and her husband Tom Onions in 2012 and started out life as an open-air coffee hut outside the Gherkin in the City.
Back in July it launched Peggy Jean in Richmond, its second riverside restaurant to be located on a barge; and earlier this week it confirmed the opening of Johnny Green in St John's Wood.
Paradise Green will be the group's 14th site and feature multiple restaurant and spaces that have been aesthetically designed to contrast with each other; the bright, airy interiors of the 'sunrise' room for daytime dining set against the 'sunset' bar and restaurant that's described as 'portraying the more evocative side of Surfers Paradise'.
The lunch and dinner menu will feature signature dishes such as chicken parmigiana with panko-coated chicken schnitzel, prosciutto, tomatoes, mozzarella, aged parmesan and hand cut chips; and a sharing Aussie BBQ meat board featuring HG Walter prime lamb tomahawk, 28-day dry aged onglet steak, fennel and chilli sausages, smoky BBQ back ribs, corn ribs, béarnaise sauce and sides.
Split over two levels, the upstairs features a 40-seat private dining room featuring an installation by UK artist Lucy Sparrow.
