Chef and restaurant consultant Sam Brotchie will launch a premium sandwich concept at Market Halls’ Oxford Street location later this month.

Sexy Buns will create ‘London’s best sandwiches’ using locally sourced and quality ingredients to take the lunchtime staple to ‘the next level’.

Options will include The Salt Beef (house-cured organic salt beef, sweet house pickles, crispy baby gem with hot mustard and creamy horseradish); The Thai Reed Curry (red chicken curry, crisp Asian salad, lime leaf, Thai basil, coriander, crispy shallots spicy sauce and chilli oil); and The Tikka Cauli (spiced cauliflower, coconut yogurt, green chutney, pickled red onions, Bombay mix, chilli sauce and fresh coriander).

Brotchie’s CV includes stints working at top restaurants in France and Australia. He moved back to the UK in 2017 to  join the team at Céleste at The Lanesborough working under Eric Fréchon.

He joined successful kebab-focused restaurant group Le Bab as it opened its second site in Covent Garden and remains a partner in the business.

“My love of sandwiches started from that young age when my parents had Brotchie’s, a sandwich bar in Fulham. Everyday I was lucky enough to have one in my pack lunch which would make all my friends very jealous because they were so delicious,” he says.

“That love continued when we moved to France. I would go to the boulangerie in the village, get an amazing baguette a l’ancienne and make beautiful sandwiches. Everyone loves a good sandwich and I am so delighted that we can all now enjoy one in London at Market Halls Oxford Street.”
