South African-born café brand Tashas will make its UK debut later this year with a 4,000sq ft site at London’s Battersea Power Station.

Located on Prospect Way, the restaurant will feature a large terrace area and will be open all through the day offering dishes including butternut zucchini rosti, lemon chicken and Texas salad.

Founded in Johannesburg in 2005 by Natasha Sideris, Tashas has 15 locations in South Africa and six in the UAE.

The space will be designed by Sideris and design studio Verhaal, and is billed as an updated version of the group’s original Tashas location in Johannesburg’s Atholl district with light and bright interiors featuring work from contemporary South African designers and artisans.

“We are thrilled to be opening at Battersea Power Station as our first UK location. At Tashas, we are passionate about curating memorable moments with great food in beautiful environments. We can’t wait to bring the Tashas brand of hospitality to London,” says Sideris.

Sam Cotton, head of asset management at Battersea Power Station Development Company (BPSDC) added: “It’s always exciting to welcome a new dining venue or brand opening, which is why we’re so pleased Tashas will be launching its first UK restaurant at Battersea Power Station this summer. We’re sure the restaurant’s delicious food and beautiful decor will be a big hit with visitors to this new riverside neighbourhood.”
